There is also no support for backing up web-based services such as Google G Suite or Microsoft Office 365. This is unfortunate since the majority of highly-popular, Linux-based VM servers run on VMWare as opposed to Microsoft Hyper-V. However, while it's great for folks who have committed to the Microsoft virtualization platform, it's not so great for those using Citrix, VMware, or other virtualization platforms as MozyPro for Business doesn't yet support any of them. This is critical for organizations that have moved to virtualized server environments, as it means MozyPro for Business can back up multiple virtual machines (VMs) without having to install the backup client on each individual operating system (OS). The second app is Mozy Sync, which lets users store and sync folder data across other devices.Īs stated earlier, MozyPro for Business specializes in support for Microsoft Hyper-V. The first is the MozyPro for Business backup client, which manages the backup and restore of user and server machines. There are two clients available for install. The MozyPro for Business support staff is very knowledgeable and can lead you down alternative paths that better suit your business. White glove service like this is rare and, even if you are technically savvy enough to walk through setup by yourself, you should definitely take advantage of their service. The support staff is friendly and walks you through the entire process of enabling and setting up the account with the exact features your business needs. Setting up MozyPro for Business is a guided effort. Getting Started With MozyPro for Business Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices can also be included in backups, and a 30-day trial is available on their website. Specific server applications that can also be protected are Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL Server. MozyPro for Business can be configured to back up a wide variety of platforms, including Apple OS X, Linux, and Windows. Still, for those who have embraced Microsoft, MozyPro for Business is a solid, no-fuss option for backing up your company's systems at a reasonable price. That's what's keeping it behind Arcserve UDP Cloud Direct, our Editors' Choice winner for the cloud backup service for businesses category. If you're not using Microsoft Hyper-V and Azure-based cloud services, then your results may vary, which is a problem for folks using virtualization solutions from Citrix, VMware, or little-known cloud services such as those from Amazon, Google, or Rackspace. It didn't get a higher rating than that mainly because it lags a bit in terms of backing up non-Microsoft virtualized environments and cloud services. But MozyPro for Business provides excellent data retention and security, which makes it a stronger contender as a cloud backup service for business, earning a rating of 3 stars in our cloud backup services review roundup. This accounts for its 2.5-star rating in our business-oriented cloud storage and file sharing service review roundup, well behind Editors' Choice winners Dropbox Business and Egnyte Business in that category. Beyond this issue, I’m happy with MozyPro so far and I’m actual glad I get to test their support early on.MozyPro for Business (which begins at $13.98 per month for 10 GB of storage and unlimited users) is, first and foremost, a backup solution so it's somewhat weak in collaboration features. Yet for some reason the backup client is not detecting either product for backup. It’s all hardware-based SCSI RAID, which looks like regular disks to Windows, nothing special there. I have C, D, and E hard disk partitions on this server, with D containing the SQL installation and database and E containing the Exchange installation and database. They answer the phones quickly, and have escalated the issue to a developer because everything looks like it should be working. I called MozyPro’s technical support this morning. So, no Exchange or SQL backup happened at all. However, when looking at the backup history, it shows that the initial backup only transferred 2.2 GB of data - far, far less than our Exchange and Shelby SQL databases! About the size of the other files I’d chosen, in fact. ![]() This morning, I find the backup complete, and additional incremental backups have also been made throughout the night. I included a couple of gigabytes of other files as well, then I started the backup and went home. ![]() I figured this was related to Jason’s issue where filesize is not displayed correctly. ![]() Everything went smoothly, except that the Exchange Server and SQL Server Backup Sets both showed 0 files, 0 bytes to back up. I set up our account last night (make sure to contact them and get the 10% non-profit discount!) and decided to try out backing up our Exchange/Shelby server first, since that dataset should be a lot smaller than our file server. I’ve decided to follow-the-blog-leader and try out MozyPro for online backup.
